Pioneering Success: First MICRA Leadless Pacemaker Implant in a Patient with Complex Congenital Heart Abnormality
Happy to share the story of first-of -its-kind , MICRA leadless implant in a patient with complex congenital abnormality. A patient with Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) who previously underwent intracardiac repair and bilateral Glenn shunt had a failed epicardial pacing lead. The situation was successfully rescued with a leadless pacemaker—likely the first such case reported in the literature. This achievement was made possible with the support of Manipal CSSR and some noble souls. It was truly heartwarming to see the patient’s smiling face and the relief of a mother caring for her 3-year-old child. Grateful to Dr. Singhi for his valuable contribution from the pediatric cardiology side and to everyone involved in making this possible.
